Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head...

Totes "Small Wonder" umbrella in polka dots

Well...it seems like the temperature here in the frozen wastelands of Canada may actually creep...*gasp!* above zero this coming week. Of course, visions of skipping through puddles and stopping to admire the raindrops hanging like gems off the tulips and daffodils instantly leapt into my head, though the reality will likely be more like a giant slush-pile.

But come on a hypothetical journey with me, dear reader, to the land of soft, spring rains and puddles...perhaps populated by an adorable family of ducklings. Of course, whenever this lovely climatological fantasy does arrive, you'll need to be properly dressed! In preparation for that time, I've accumulated some of the best rain-wear I could find. Hope you find your perfect puddle-jumping attire!

The Coats

Anyone can shlump through the early spring rains in a monochrome, monotonous khaki trench, hauling their husband's black umbrella and wearing nondescript rubber galoshes. To kick it up a notch when you're trudging through the downpour, infuse your rain-wear with some hot colours, and make sure the cut is complementary to your body. You don't have to look like you're draped in a garbage bag with a head-hole cut out...

The Boots

Now that you've surely grabbed yourself a pretty raincoat, it's time to accessorize! Although, really, these wellies and galoshes tend to steal the show, so they're a perfect complement to a more muted, neutral trench. Find a pair for your first romantic stroll in a Spring rainshower!
